My finances may be murky right now, but they are improving every day. This year I had the child support cut in half due to ex not finding steady employment yet. That really impacted the finances.
I also have the issue of SO getting new orders. That has still not completely played out, but we are getting closer to finding a solution every day. It was a lot of added stress in 2012.
Right now I am focusing on remembering the good that is in this world. One sick individual created such devastation, but I must remember that goodness and love is pouring out of others who are heartbroken by this evil.

My youngest, who is fifteen and a sensitive girl by nature, has been variously talking about the event itself and what others (students and teachers) had to say, as well as telling me about the lockdown procedures at her school. She even talked through at length about where the class goes in the band room, which is separated from the rest of the high school's classrooms and outside the auto-locking steel doors. She asked about the middle school where I work, which is across the street from her, and I shared the procedures (and reassurances.)
It's such a heavy perspective - being a parent, but also on staff at school, and especially caring for the most vulnerable of our student population. The usual "hugs are for home" is thrown out the window during lockdowns and emergencies.
Take care!
